Well, the easy part is done. I’ve finished 99.5% of the coding. The hard part will be the demo this morning because I’m not so great at talking in front of people. I have always dreaded it. Still, it has the potential to have a huge impact on our users. So for that reason, I’m actually, in some way, really looking forward to the demonstration.
What’s Next?
Up next is an Eyes of the Dragon 4.0 tutorial. That tutorial will start to dig into the combat engine. Again, it will be a turn-based combat system. The first step will be to build the role-playing game system. I will be using the SPECIAL system. That stands for Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility and Luck attributes, with health and mana as secondary attributes.
My Projects
I am eager to get back to my projects. It has been some time since I’ve worked on a game. I will be working on Shadow Monsters. I was working on the maps before I had to take a deep dive into my editor. I find content creation so much harder than programming. I want it to be perfect, engaging, and immersive.
Final Thoughts
I spent twenty-four hours working on my editor the past two days. It was gruelling but rewarding. It was not game programming, though. I always want to be doing game programming. There is not much demand for a MonoGame game programmer, though. I don’t really care for Unity. I want more control than what Unity provides. I like the lower level details.
Anyway, there are still some details that I want to get to before the demo. So, I am going to wish you a good day. I will be back tomorrow with another episode of game programming adventures.
