It Was a Dark and Stormy Night

Okay, enough cliches. It was a dark and stormy night, though. It is the type of night that I would usually be coding up a storm. Tonight, though, I didn’t have it in me. I didn’t have writing in me either, or I would have worked on the next A Summoner’s Tale tutorial.

What’s Next?

Well, the next tutorial will be an A Summoner’s Tale tutorial. It will be much like the last Eyes of the Dragon 4.0 tutorial. It will cover adding a file form to the editor. It won’t be used in the game. I will only be implementing a single saved game at a time, or possibly between eight and ten, stored in the user profile.

My Projects

I did work on Eyes of Inashti today and yesterday. I implemented a type of animation I hadn’t before. Instead of a sprite sheet for the entire sprite or sprite sheet per animation, the animations comprised individual images. I implemented the jump and idle animations. I also implemented jumping with falling off the screen ending the game. Not that you can call what I have done a game yet.

Final Thoughts

Work has impacted my productivity this week. It has made it difficult to want to write and code afterwards. However, it has to come first because there would be no internet, no hydro, no shelter, etc. It’s a great job, just a problem with a website. Anyway, I will be back tomorrow with another game programming adventure.
