Next Eyes of the Dragon Tutorial

Today was a rather weird day. So, I didn’t get done what I expected. I have almost finished coding the next Eyes of the Dragon tutorial. However, I have not really done much in the way of writing. Part of this is because of my new project. More on that later. Anyway, back to the tutorial. This tutorial will cover adding a form you can use to select files or folders. That part was a little challenging. In my games, I use Windows Forms for editors. I want to create a cross-platform editor for Eyes of the Dragon. So, I needed to develop a way to select files and folders. There are a few glitches to iron out, which I will finish this evening.

What’s Next?

As I said above, this next tutorial is about creating a form for selecting files and folders. I plan to finish the coding tonight. However, that might wait because I want to devote some time to my new project tonight. I want to wrap it up in the next few days, Tuesday at the latest. Once that tutorial is finished, I am going to integrate the results into A Summoner’s Tale. That should go by much more smoothly.

My Projects

As I eluded to earlier, I have started a new project! I’m very excited. While ambitious, it should be accomplishable by a solo developer. For now, it is code named Eyes of Inashti. (What is my fascination with eyes?) It is a 2D platformer. The player chooses between one of three adventurers, possibly six. They are questing to find holy relics, the Eyes of Inashti. It should run on all major platforms. Well, with the exception of consoles. I don’t have consoles on which to develop.

Final Thoughts

My day did not go as planned. I had to really fight to get as much programming done as I did. Because of that, I got next to no writing done. But I hope to get the writing done tomorrow. It might be Tuesday, though. So, keep an eye out for new tutorials. I mentioned it earlier. I plan to revive my newsletter, so you don’t have to keep coming back to the blog to check for new stuff. So, keep an eye out for that!

Good luck with your game programming adventures!
