I have finished uploading part 0F in my A Summoner’s Tale tutorial series to my Google Drive. This tutorial picks up where the last one left off with characters, adding the bulk of the code for conversing with a character. However, it doesn’t actually mean you can have conversations with them on the map. Instead, I trigger a static conversation using one of the buttons on the start menu state. You can find the link to the tutorial on my A Summoner’s Tale page. Also, you can find it using this direct link.
What’s Next?
Well, I see three options. One is to finish conversations in A Summoner’s Tale. Another is that I can bang out in short order a similar tutorial in the Eyes of the Dragon 4.0. The last option is to write a tutorial for Forest Rush 3.8.1. All three are appealing. I will decide which one I will tackle tomorrow.
My Projects
I did a little work on Eyes of Inashti last night and today. Unfortunately, I didn’t make much progress. I got discouraged and worked on A Summoner’s Tale instead. I don’t regret that decision, and it was good to do it. I hope that you all find it useful. For the remainder of the evening, I will be working on Eyes of Inashti unless it frustrates me again. Then, I could see myself moving on to the next tutorial.
Final Thoughts
Wow, this tutorial was another monster, combining over 5000 words, code and text. But, of course, that doesn’t include all the symbols, and there are many in C#. I will be back soon with another tutorials over my long weekend. So, I wish you the best with your game programming adventures.
