I have just share tutorial 50 in my MonoGame RPG series Eyes of the Dragon. In this tutorial, I have mobs dropping loot when they are defeated. You can find the link to the tutorial on the Eyes of the Dragon page of my website. Also, you can use this direct link.
What’s Next?
Honestly, I’m not sure what the next tutorial will cover. I will take a good look at the game so far and see what is missing. I will then add that feature to the game. If you have a suggestion on what you would like to see covered, drop a comment below. I’m always happy to respond to suggestions.
My Projects
I think this evening I will look at Silver Prophet and see what I want to do with it. I know I want to redo the maps. I’m not too fond of the way they look currently. That means redoing all of the conversations, though. That is because coordinates are embedded in the conversations for entry and exit points. I will also have to look at placing encounters with mobs because that is missing.
I do like the way that combat works so far. It takes place on a separate screen with formations. Every two seconds, the player, or a non-player character, takes action. They first try that action on the same row. If there is no character on that row, it drops to the next row. When damage occurs, a number floats above the target’s head then disappears.
Final Thoughts
It was good to finish a tutorial quickly. It helped me focus my thoughts and not dwell on pending news that I am nervous about. I hope that looking at Silver Prophet does the same tonight. Instead, I may start work on tutorial 51 in the Eyes of the Dragon series if I can decide what to tackle next. So, please keep visiting my blog for the latest news on my tutorials and other goodness.
Good luck with your game programming adventures.
