I have just shared tutorial 47 in my MonoGame tutorial series Eyes of the Dragon. This tutorial picks up where the last one left off, creating the combat engine. In addition, it allows for dealing damage to mobs and mobs hitting back. You can find the tutorial on the Eyes of the Dragon page of my blog. You can also find the tutorial at this direct link.
What’s Next?
The next tutorial will also be on the combat engine. It will allow for the player to use spells and talents. It will also allow for mobs to use spells and talents. The way it will work will be random. I won’t be building any intelligence into selecting attacks, at least at this point. Look for that tutorial tomorrow, I hope. It likely wouldn’t be Thursday or Friday, Saturday at the latest.
My Projects
In addition to working on the next tutorial, I will be working on my projects. I will be working on Silver Prophet. It will be content creation and not programming. I want to create the landing level when the game first starts. I have a level, but it is clunky and bloated. I want to streamline it and fix a few small issues.
Final Thoughts
Things are really coming together for the game. You can now fight mobs and win or lose the fight. It is really coming together. There are still improvements to be made. We will get there. So, please continue to visit the blog for the latest news on my tutorials and other goodness.
Good luck with your game programming adventures.
