The title says it all. I’m sorry for not posting regularly over the weekend. I’ve had a lot on my mind. However, I did manage some work on the next Eyes of the Dragon 4.0 tutorial. More on that shortly. I don’t see myself posting on Fridays anymore. I’ve found a charming spot to play Magic: The Gathering, and I will be visiting them weekly, at least for the time being. I plan to move, and it will no longer be convenient.
What’s Next?
I’m glad that you asked! Up next is another Eyes of the Dragon 4.0 tutorial. This tutorial continues on with encounters. It allows for moving around the map and attacking the mob(s). At this early point, you automatically one hit the mob for critical damage. There are no rolls for success and failure. Also, it is only for melee attacks. There is nothing for ranged attacks. We will get there soon enough. As well, the mob just sits there looking pretty at this point.
My Projects
I haven’t even looked at Shadow Monsters, and she is giving me the cold shoulder. I want to spend time with her. I do. However, other things always seem to take priority. I want to revamp combat. I want to make it more like Eyes of the Dragon 4.0 and less like Pokemon. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea. I’d also love to make it more like a collectible card game. I just might do that.
Final Thoughts
I’m sorry for being absent. I just had a lot going on over the weekend. There was Magic Friday night and other things over the weekend. Going forward, Fridays will be a no-post day. I’m just enjoying being back, even if I’m losing all the time. But, I’m doing so spectacularly. While the code for the tutorial is fairly complete, I have a lot of writing to do. I’d like to say I’ll have this up over the next few days, but I don’t know if that is realistic.
Anyway, I will be back tomorrow with another episode of Game Programming Adventures.
