I’ve had a lot going on lately. I haven’t had the opportunity to switch to Visual Studio and do a little programming for fun. Yes, I know people think you are strange for programming for fun. It is fun, though. Typing in the commands, seeing your work take shape on the screen, and playing the game that you are working on. It’s all fun!
What’s Next?
I did work a little, very, very, very little on the next Eyes of the Dragon 4.0 tutorial. This tutorial is going to work on combat using the SPECIAL system. Initially, the character may not score too many hits on the enemy. It will depend on how much they have invested in their Agility score. Then, the damage will be modified based on their strength score. I don’t know if it is possible, but ideally, I would like this tutorial on the blog by Friday. With it being a holiday here, it is possible.
I do want to do a Forest Rush tutorial. However, the problem with the sprites not being the right size is still giving me a headache. I have a few ideas on how to resolve them, but I haven’t had the opportunity to test them out.
My Projects
Shadow Monsters in the midst of packing her bags and filing for divorce. So, I am going to have to placate her and spend some time with her. I am in a similar place with Shadow Monsters as I am with A Summoner’s Tale and Eyes of the Dragon. In regard to combat, at least. It is a few leaps ahead in comparison to other areas.
Final Thoughts
I have a lot going on, professionally and personally. For those reasons, I haven’t had a lot of time for side projects. I’m hoping that things will go smoothly tomorrow and I will have time to devote to projects. I know that this evening, I will have some time. I’m not sure what avenue I will follow at this point. Since Shadow Monsters is on the verge of leaving me, it will be with her. Anyway, I will be back tomorrow with another episode of Game Programming Adventures.
