New A Summoner’s Tale Tutorial! Part 12(18)

I have just uploaded, a rather lengthy, tutorial that covers the beginnings of the battle engine. I would have gone further, but it was already thirty pages. Also, I didn’t get to creating shadow monsters and triggering a battle. For the latter, I need the former. I felt I needed shadow monsters besides the test goblin I made in the last tutorial. Also, I need to create a new character type. So, I will cover those topics in the next tutorial. You can find the tutorial on my blog’s A Summoner’s Tale page, or you can use this direct link.

What’s Next?

I will put A Summoner’s Tale aside for a few tutorials. I think we all deserve a break from it. So instead, I will write an Eyes of the Dragon 4.0 tutorial and a Forest Rush tutorial, the former coming first. I see from my stats that you are eager for my Eyes of the Dragon tutorial. And, as it happens, I am willing to give it to you. You are also hungry for more Forest Rush, and I am more than happy to do that as well.

My Projects

For my projects, I have worked on Eyes of Ishanti and Shadow Monster—more on the former than the latter. Unfortunately, I’m still stuck in the same place for the last. I need content, but I have difficulty figuring out exactly what I need. I would rather be working on Shadow Monsters. However, there is just a lot that I need to do, and it is hard to pick where to begin. I will likely look at it this evening and, hopefully, make some headway.

Final Thoughts

This past tutorial was a marathon. I require a break. I don’t know if I will work on something new tomorrow. As I mentioned, it will be Eyes of the Dragon if I do. I might spend the day playing games instead of making games tomorrow. Though, both are equally enjoyable. My friends think it weird that I’m working on games and tutorials when I’m not working for the man.

Anyway, I wish you all the best in your game programming adventures.
