I took a few days off to talk with people instead of computers. It was a nice change. Not once did I talk about game programming. Once writing came up but not what I usually wrote about. I enjoyed being under the radar. I’ve had enough, though. I’m ready to return to what I love the most, game programming and writing about game programming.
What’s Next?
Well, the next tutorial will be an Eye of the Dragon 4.0 tutorial. I promised that I would start work on combat, and I plan to honour that promise. It won’t be a full-fledged system, but it will be a good start to it. Unlike Shadow Monsters, it would be a mainly text-bast system. It will be more graphical. It will still be turn-based, though.
My Projects
I did work some the past few days on my Shadow Monsters. Mainly, I worked on combat. I now have animated sprites on the screen and changing animations. However, I still want them to tween on the screen. There are some proportion issues I need to figure out as well. It is due to the source.
Final Thoughts
I needed a break. Break’s over now. I’m ready to get back into game programming and writing, two of my top three favourite things, only behind chocolate, which is hard to compete against. I will be back tomorrow with another game programming adventure.
