Well, it was dark. It was later in the evening, so it was to be expected. Okay, all joking aside. I have been very busy with my Shadow Monsters game. That, and work today, of course. I have made some good progress on Shadow Monsters. More on that later. I took a break from tutorials, focusing instead on family and my projects.
What’s Next
Regarding tutorials, I have an Eyes of the Dragon 4.0 and a Forest Rush 3.8.1 tutorial planned. The Eyes of the Dragon tutorial will be on the basics of combat. I have a very clear idea of what I want to achieve. First, I will add sprite to tile collision detection with transformed objects for Forest Rush. Then, time permitting, I would start adding mobs to the map.
My Projects
As I mentioned above, I have been working on Shadow Monsters. As a result, I now have animated sprites for combat instead of static images. They are animating way too fast, though. I need to see what is wrong with that. The battle is flowing as before. It is the I hit you. You hit me back, type afraid. With that working, it is time to turn my attention back to content. I have the starting village done. I need to work on the world around it. While I have the storyline in mind, it really needs to be fleshed out. In this game, there are five bosses and one final boss. No spoilers!
Final Thoughts
Yesterday was a good break. While it was slow, seeing some progress on Shadow Monsters was nice. It has been a while since I have made any. I will spend part of the next few days on tutorials and my projects. So keep an eye open for new tutorials and new and my games. I wish you the best with your game programming adventures.
