I went into the day with every intention of publishing a new tutorial tonight. Sadly, that was not in the cards. I ended up having to take care of some business after work. I did finish it quickly, though. However, the division between Eyes of the Dragon and A Summoner’s Tale was more significant than I had anticipated. So, that delayed my coding of it and my writing of it. I will work on that divide once I have finished here.
On an unrelated note, I had an idea this morning. You might not want to keep coming back to the blog for the latest news on my tutorials. So, I’ve thought about restarting my newsletter. I would fire it off once a week, probably on Sunday, with what has changed over the past week. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea.
What’s Next
Up next is tutorial six in Eyes of the Dragon 4.0. This tutorial covers moving the sprite and scrolling the map on all supported platforms. I have been toying with the idea of getting a Switch to write tutorials about that as well. However, I want to pick up a gamepad, so I can also write about that. I am sure I can find something that would work on Amazon.
My Projects
At this point, I want to say what projects. I haven’t coded something substantial for me that is not a tutorial in what feels like a month. Instead, I’ve been working on things for work or tutorials. I do want to change that, though. Part of the problem is not knowing where to start. I think I need to write up a design document or something.
Final Thoughts
I don’t regret spending so much time on tutorials. On the contrary, it is quite the opposite. I’ve found that they have reignited a spark within me. As a result, I feel more alive than I have in the past year. I don’t mean to complain, but a lot in my life is not easy. Anyway, enough about that. I will end this here and encourage you to keep coming back to the blog for the latest news on my tutorials or wait on baited breathe for my new newsletter.
Good luck with your game programming adventures!
