I have just shared tutorial 46 in my MonoGame RPG tutorial series Eyes of the Dragon on my Google Drive. This tutorial starts with the combat engine. You can now trigger combat and run from combat. You can hit a mob, but you cannot kill a mob. I will be getting to that in part two. You can find the link to the tutorial on my site’s Eyes of the Dragon page, or you can use this direct link.
What’s Next?
Up next will be the second installment of the combat engine. It will cover damaging mobs and being damaged by mobs. I will be working on it tomorrow, but I don’t know that I will be able to finish it. I need to prepare for an interview on Tuesday, and I have an afternoon appointment that will take up much of my time.
My Projects
With travel and tutorials, I didn’t have a chance to work on my projects. I’m starting to see where I want to go, though. I have been mapping out a plan, and I’m ready to start executing it. It is a matter of finding the time at this point because I have a lot of demands on my time now. Juggling them all is proving difficult. I hope to be better at it soon.
Final Thoughts
It feels good to be productive again. I do so enjoy writing these tutorials and working on my projects. I will probably start work on my project, which I code-named Lost Fate, once I’m finished this post. It is a collectible card game. I have it working somewhat. The only issue is that it is not scalable as is. If there were a large number of players, it would bog down and throw errors. However, I have some ideas on how to make it scalable. I encourage you to keep visiting the blog for the latest news on my tutorials and other goodness.
Good luck with your game programming adventures!
