I have just shared my MonoGame RPG Tutorial 45 from my Google Drive. As I discussed yesterday, this tutorial covers adding mobs, or monsters, to the game. It is really the last piece before getting into the combat engine. I will need to make a few tweaks to entities later to the items in the game. Right now, they are not balanced, but that is a topic for another day. You can find the tutorial on the Eyes of the Dragon page of the site. Alternatively, you can use this direct link to access the tutorial.
What’s Next?
So, what’s next is the long-anticipated and talked about combat engine! I finally have all of the pieces in place. It will be generation-one Pokemon-style combat. I hit you, and then you hit me back sort of affair. It will likely take several tutorials to finish it. You never know, though. I have been misestimating things lately. I won’t be working on it tomorrow, most likely. I hope to have it up Tuesday or Wednesday.
My Projects
So, I didn’t work on my projects today or yesterday. They were off days. I won’t work on them tomorrow either, most likely. I will be working a part-time job that I picked up instead. It is a cool gig, and I enjoy it. I am interviewing for a full-time position, on to round three, and I hope I get it.
Final Thoughts
This was a quick tutorial, but a necessary one. I didn’t want to cram it in with the combat engine. However, I am looking forward to working on that piece, though. I have been busy with other things that are also necessary. Once things stabilize, I plan to do more work on tutorials. In the meantime, please be patient. So, please keep visiting the blog for the latest news on my tutorials and other goodness.
Good luck with your game programming adventures!
