On The Mend

Sorry, I didn’t work on a tutorial last night or today. I was busy with the app I’ve been working on for most of today for a client. I’ve been working on publishing it to iPhone. It works great on Android. I keep getting the error message that the integrity of the app cannot be verified, and it refuses to install. It would probably be easier if I had a Mac, which I do not. Hopefully, soon I will, and I can develop for Windows, Android, Mac, and iOS. For now, I will have to continue to borrow access to one.

What’s Next?

So, I will be doing some work on a tutorial tonight. As I’ve mentioned before, this tutorial will be about equipping items on the player character. It is not the player that will be getting the items, though. It is the underlying entity that will be getting the equipment. Other entities require equipment, and it is better to have it all in one place rather than multiple instances. I hope to get a fair chunk of the tutorial done because I’ve made good progress on my projects.
After this tutorial, I will have enough pieces in place to do the battle engine. It will be similar to the battle system in Shadow Monsters. It will be I hit you; you hit me system. The party that goes first will have an initiative roll each turn, modified by high dexterity. The party with the highest roll hits first.

My Projects

As I mentioned, I had made excellent progress on my projects yesterday. I finished the deck editor in Lost Fate. It works as expected and without too much fuss. I want to make a few style changes, but those are trivial compared to the functionality. There are still some things I want to add, like filtering, sorting and other things. However, it is functional and works similar to the deck builder in the Magic The Gathering games. Which I still play from time to time, other than MTG Arena. I refuse to spend money on it, and with what cards I have, I keep getting knocked off the field.

Final Thoughts

Things are proceeding well. I will finish my app soon. It requires content from the client to complete it. I will get the iOS thing sorted out soon enough. I plan on working on tutorials now that my workload is lesser than before, and I am feeling relatively well. Lost Fate is coming along well now that I’m working on it again.
