Finally, tutorial 42 in my MonoGame RPG Tutorial series is live! As I’ve mentioned, this tutorial covers adding merchants for the player to interact with. You can find the tutorial on the Eyes of the Dragon page of my website, or you can use this direct link.
What’s Next
The next MonoGame RPG Tutorial will cover equipping items on the player character. It will be in preparation for the battle engine. I still haven’t firmed up my plans for the battle engine. I do have several ideas on how I want to handle it. Most likely, I will go with more of a text-based solution instead of a graphical solution, so I don’t need as many art assets. In either case, it is high time for the player character to kick some butt!
My Projects
I didn’t get much of a chance to work on my projects yesterday or today. My client came back with some change requests, and I was working on doing those. Also, I was working on the tutorial. That in and of itself was rewarding. I will be spending the rest of the day working on my projects. I will be working on Lost Fate now. Silver Prophet requires a lot of level design, and I really don’t want to get into that at this point.
Final Thoughts
So, this tutorial took quite a while to get out the door because of life problems and work. It was good to get back in the saddle and finish it off. I will be starting the next one as soon as possible. I have to prep for my lesson tomorrow, and I want to watch the React Native course I signed up for on Udemy. Those things have to come into play when trying to balance my workload. So, I encourage you to keep visiting the blog for the latest news on my tutorials and other goodness.
Good luck with your game programming adventures!
