Firstly, the site was down for most of today thanks to a failed update. I’ve been working on restoring it most of the day and finally got it back up and running. Secondly, sorry for going dark again. I thought I had turned the corner on my depression but it came back twice as hard. It is still bad but I’m trying to power through it. Truth be told though, I’m not having much luck doing it.
What’s Next
When I get back to tutorials, the plan is still to add merchants to the game. The player will then be able to buy equipment that they will be able to equip in the next tutorial. After that tutorial, I will start work on the battle engine. I would like to give you a timeline on these tutorials but I can’t. I want to be able to give you a timeline on these tutorials but at this point, I can’t. There are other things that I have to work on first.
My Projects
Tutorials are not the only casualty of my depression. I’ve not worked on Quintessential Duels in several days. I worked on my website a bit as well as my social media sites. Speaking of social media sites, I have a very strong dislike of Instagram. I wanted to use it for marketing purposes but I cannot upload images from my computer. Also, I find the app counter-intuitive and the steps they make you go through are ridiculous.
Final Thoughts
A lot of time and energy went into solving the problems with the blog because of the failed update. I didn’t get any help from the debug tools. WordPress just wasn’t making it that far. It ended up being configuration file that was left over from the plugin in question. Once deleted, the site came back fine. I’ve decided not to use the plugin in question. Depression has really been bad, making it hard to do any of the things that I want or need to do. So, I encourage you to keep visiting the blog for the latest news on my tutorials and other goodness.
Before I go, I’m looking at resurrecting my old newsletter so you don’t have to keep visiting and get a weekly recap of what has been going on at Game Programming Adventures.
