So, there is no tutorial news to speak of. I finished reviewing the project to see what needs to be done. I didn’t do any actual work on a tutorial though. Other things required my attention today. The plan is to work on the next tutorial over the weekend. I know that I have stalled a bit but there has been a lot going on that requires my attention. I do tutorials as my time permits and as a way of sharing my knowledge.
What’s Next
Currently the plan is still to work on effects, spells and talents. I will be implementing a spell or talent for each of the four classes that we have developed so far. I will also be making a few quick tweaks to the class definitions. Right now characters are a little weak. If a flea sneezed on them they would die. I will not be getting into the battle engine in this tutorial. I still need to handle equipping items. For that I would either have to have the character start with items, which is a possibility, or allow for shops. I’m leaning toward allowing for shops. I have that code working in another project based off Eyes of the Dragon and it would not take much to bring it into Eyes of the Dragon.
My Projects
What I did work on a bit is the website for Psibernetic Games. Mostly it was work on style and formatting. I need to finalize the support page then move on to the frequently asked questions pages. I like the site as it is so far and I have been receiving some positive feedback on the design. What I didn’t work on, and should have, is the tutorial for Quintessential Duels. I do have a solid plan for what needs to be done, it is a matter of implementing it. I do need to work on my next lesson for my Roblox student. The code is 95% finished but I need to prepare the lecture that goes with it. I am thinking of doing a series of tutorials on creating an overworld game with Roblox. It would be a good addition to the site.
Final Thoughts
Things have slipped as for as my productivity goes and I know why. There’s not much I can do about it but ride it out. It will come back given time. So, I encourage you to keep visiting the blog for the latest news on my tutorials and other goodness.
