So, I have shared MonoGame RPG tutorial 40. This tutorial covers loading characters made with the editor into the game. You can find the link to the tutorial on the Eyes of the Dragon 3.0 page of the blog. Also, you can use this direct link to view it.
What’s Next
Well, I really want to get a start on the battle engine for Eyes of the Dragon. Also, I want to write the tutorials on creating a game framework for the web. Both have their appeal. I’m unsure which one I will tackle first. I will decide tomorrow though I’m leaning toward the web one.
My Projects
I didn’t work on my projects today. Instead I worked on the tutorial while I was available. I will be working on Quintessential Duels for the remainder of tonight and part of tomorrow. Mostly I will be doing graphic design. I’m still considering outsourcing some of it. It will depend on what I can come up with and how I feel it looks. I have an idea on what I want to achieve which is usually half the battle.
As well as Quintessential Duels I might spend some time on Lost Fate. At least I want to move my databases from my old laptop to my new one. I ended up have two databases. One is a MySql database and the other is a SQL Server database. The reason there are two is the project originated as a PHP project. It was migrated to ASP.NET though. Specifically, it is an MVC project. There are a few modifications that I want to make to it. Firstly, I was using three different types of mana. I want to simplify it down to one type of mana. Secondly, I want to change a few of the mechanics that I had implemented. They feel a bit clunky for lack of a better word.
The other thing that I need to work on are my website and social media accounts. I was looking at my site yesterday and there was more work needed than I originally thought. There are a few placeholder pages I haven’t created yet.
Final Thoughts
Eyes of the Dragon is really starting to take shape. I’m ready to start on the battle engine shortly. I might tackle equipping items first, time will tell. I need to buckle down on my projects to meet my April 15th deadline.
So, I encourage you to visit the blog frequently for the latest news on my tutorials and other goodness.
Hello, i read your blog occasionally and i own a similar one and i was just wondering if you get a lot of spam responses? If so how do you prevent it, any plugin or anything you can suggest? I get so much lately it’s driving me crazy so any support is very much appreciated.|
Hi. I don’t get a lot of spam comments. The ones I do get I manually police. There is of course Askimet (sp?) but you can’t use the free version if you run ads. If you come across one, drop a comment. I would be interested in filtering the ones that I do get.
