Eyes of the Dragon MonoGame Tutorial 17
I have just shared tutorial 17 in the MonoGame RPG tutorial series on my Google Drive. This is port of my old Eyes of the Dragon XNA tutorials to MonoGame. It covers added in the base classes for the player finding loot on the map. You can find the link to the tutorial on the Eyes of the Dragon 3.0 page of the site. You can also find the tutorial at this direct link.
What’s Next
‘Firstly, I like seeing the Eyes of the Dragon tutorials being ported to MonoGame. It is great to have both the XNA and the MonoGame tutorials on the site. For that reason, I will be continuing on with porting the old XNA tutorials to MonoGame. When I need a break from porting tutorials I will work on the next HTML5 tutorial, which will be able adding an animated sprite to the tile engine. Soon I will tackle the MonoGame For The Absolute Beginner tutorial on animation as well.
My Projects
Currently, my focus is still on the Psibernetic Games website. It is getting to be close to being finished. I am working on resolving a strange issue though. When building the site, one value in my CSS is being changed from 75% to 1%. I can, of course, manually change the value after building, however, I would prefer to find the reason for the change and prevent it. Still, the site is coming along nicely. Finishing it in the next couple of days would be nice.
Even though I might not implement multiply, at this time, I do plan on over hauling Quintessential Duels. I have an idea on making it more challenging and possibly monetize it. The player would of course still have the option of free play but to fully unlock the game it would require in game purchases.
Multiplayer would be the next step, if the base game takes off. It would require an investment in art assets but I think that it would be worth it.
