MonoGame For The Absolute Beginner

MonoGame For The Absolute Beginner is an new tutorial series that I started. As I mentioned in a previous post I had some ideas for tutorials for the series. This series will take the absolute beginner in MonoGame to a veritable master.

MonoGame For The Absolute Beginner

I have published the first tutorial in the MonoGame For The Absolute Beginner tutorial series. This tutorial covers loading the MonoGame logo into MonoGame, rendering it and then bouncing it around the screen. You can find the tutorial on the MonoGame Tutorials page of the web site. You can also open the tutorial with this direct link.

Tutorials Update

The next tutorial in the series will be all about keyboard input. Instead of updating the position logo in a programmed direction it will be controlled by keyboard input. There will also be some other keyboard related input. Keep an eye out for that tutorial!

I won’t be working on the more in depth tutorial series until after the new year. These beginner tutorials are light and are quick to knock off. The other tutorials take more time and effort that I just don’t have right now. Hopefully in the new year that will change.

Site News

I can’t say how much I’m liking the new WordPress blog over the Blogger blog. It is not just the look and feel of the site now but also the back end. There are so many additional features. If it doesn’t do it out of the box there is usually a plugin that I can use. I even found page comments after some searching. It was out of the box, just not where I was expecting.

As you can see, I will be writing more on this blog than the old blog. I will try and post daily, and with substance. Since it is easier to write code here I might do some short tutorials here rather than in PDF format. Will have to see how it goes.

Keep checking back for more news and tutorials!
