MonoGame For The Absolute Beginner Four
I have added the fourth installment of my MonoGame For The Absolute Beginner. This tutorial goes 3D and shows how to render a quad. You can find the tutorial on the MonoGame Tutorials page of the site. You can also read it directly.
In the next installment of the Absolute Beginner series I will be showing how to texture the quad and manipulate it using the keyboard.
What’s Next
So, I’ve been thinking about what’s next for my tutorials and blog. First, I’m going to do another beginner tutorial. Then I plan on finishing the next Dragon’s Claw tutorial. From there I will move onto Eyes of the Dragon and Forest Rush. In between those I want to do even more beginnertutorials. I want to expand on input, do some audio stuff, and definitely more 3D.
My Projects
I will be continuing work on my games. Primarily I want to finish the Quintessential Duels project and port it to Android. Other than that I want to work on Silver Prophet and get it finished. It is a lot of work in the editor though and it is very time consuming painting the maps. That’s why game studios have level designers. It’s hard work wearing all of the hats in the development of a game.
Final Thoughts
2020 is rapidly approaching its end. About nine hours away from where I am right now. It was a good year in many ways. I got back into writing and working on my personal projects. The blog is looking better than ever and I’m enjoying writing it. There were also bad things, like COVID-19. Hopefully the vaccine will help end this pandemic and the world will get back to its normal horrific self.
