Working on a Frogger Clone Tutorial

Well, I started work on a Frogger clone tutorial. I’ve got the frog moving around the screen. I’ve added the road and the vehicles for the frog to avoid. If the frog runs into a car, the game resets. I’ve just started on adding the parts to the water, like the logs and the turtles. The hard part with that is I don’t have such good graphics skills, as in making them. I’ve been looking for free ones on the web.

What’s Next?

I don’t have the time that I used to have, or I would be publishing tutorials far more often. I do intend to keep publishing them, though. My current focus is on classic games. Other games that I have in mind are Pac-Man and Dig Dug. If you have a classic game that you’d like to see a tutorial on, feel free to drop a comment.

I will also be working on redoing my Eyes of the Dragon and A Summoner’s Tale tutorials. I’ve also been considering doing some video tutorials. So, keep your eyes peeled for new content coming soon!

My Projects

I am working on a project. It is a card game similar to the game Dominion. There are some big differences to it. The game works fine for a single player or up to four players playing hotseat. I’m in the process of adding multiplayer to the game. Again, I don’t have the same time that I used to have, or I would be further along.

Final Thoughts

Time is the biggest limiting factor right now. I don’t have nearly the same free time that I used to have. For that reason, I’ve not been able to devote the time that I used to toward tutorials and my projects. Unfortunately, I do not see that changing in the near future. Demands on my time are growing, leaving less and less of it to devote toward my projects.

Good luck with your game programming adventures!
