My eBook on creating a clone of Q*bert is not live! I’m calling it an eBook instead of a tutorial due to the length of the tutorial. Rather than publish multiple tutorials, I opted to publish it all at once. You can find the link to the tutorial on my Classic Games page, or you can use this direct link.
What’s Next?
I’m glad you asked! What I am going to work on now is updating my Eyes of the Dragon tutorial to use the latest version of MonoGame and publish it as an eBook. Due to the number of tutorials, it is going to take more than a little time to do it. I plan on adding some new things, so if you liked the series, I suggest checking it out! I’m also looking at doing another classic game. I have a few in mind, we will see what I decide to do first.
My Projects
I will be working on Realms, my game that is a cross between Magic the Gathering and Dominion. It’s single player modes are working well. The multiplayer mode is what I’ve been working on. I have a very basic chat server working. I’m working on making a match server that allows players to host or join matches.
Final Thoughts
Q*bert was a very long project, but most enjoyable. I love writing and I love coding. I’m very happy when I’m writing about coding. I’m going to be working on writing more, and trying to devote more time to the blog. So, keep coming back for more tutorials! I really want to write more of them.
There is something that I’ve thought about. I’ve thought about doing some video tutorials to put on my YouTube channel. I think that they would be well received. At the moment, it’s just a thought. Only time will tell if it becomes a reality.
Good luck with your game programming adventures!
