I’m planning on doing another tutorial. I’ve been looking at classic games from when I was younger, and all the time I spent in the arcade. There are a number that I want to make a clone of. Games like Pole Position, Pac Man, Q*Bert, Dig Dug and more.
What’s Next
As title eludes to, I plan on doing Q*Bert for my next tutorial on classic games. I’ve already done a bit of work on it. I have the pyramid up and running. The challenging part was creating the art assets. Placing them was pretty straight forward.

Now, I’m going to start work on Q*Bert them self. I’m hoping that this will be an easier tutorial than Frogger was.
My Projects
At the moment, my tutorials are my main project. However, I’m still working at Realms, my game that is similar to the real game Dominion. It differs in many ways, and I have new difference in mind that I’m going to implement. So far, the game works will in single player mode against an AI opponent, will computer, not AI. I’m planning out how I’m going to implement network play.
Final Thoughts
It feels good to be back in writing and programming outside of work. I like seeing the results of my work and playing the games that I’m working on. Looking back at all of the classic games fills me with a sense of nostalgia. If you have a suggestion for a classic game that you would like to see a tutorial on, leave a comment and I will schedule it into the queue.
Good luck with your game programming adventures!
