I have just finished uploading my tutorial on creating a Frogger clone with MonoGame. I ended the tutorial, planning on finishing it in a Part Two, because it was getting to be more of an eBook than a PDF. You can find the tutorial on my Google Drive, here. The tutorial covers creating the frog, the field, cars, logs, turtles and getting the frog across the road and river to one of its homes. There are a number of things that I want to add. So, stay tune for Part Two!
What’s Next?
Well, up next I will finish the Frogger clone tutorial. I will be adding in things like the alligators, the otters and other enhancements. I will also be working on my project, Realms. It is a card game similar to the game Dominion. I have local working well enough. I’m moving on to being able to play over the internet. It is slow going because I don’t have as much time as I would like to work on it.
My Projects
Well, I just said what I’m working on. It works pretty good and the game is balanced. It is a little easy to play locally. I want to update that to make the computer more intelligent and having different personalities. First, though, I want to get the networking part working correctly.
Final Thoughts
The Frogger Clone tutorial was a fun one to work on. I really enjoyed making a game from when I was growing up. Writing about it is something I enjoy as well. Stay tuned for the next tutorial, which should be a week, maybe two.
Good luck with your game programming adventures!
