Haha! I see what you did there. You used hexadecimal. Joking aside, I did want to use hexadecimal for numbering this series—no particular reason. Back to the important stuff. I’ve just uploaded tutorial ten to my Google Drive. As I mentioned previously, this tutorial adds the character generator and the main menu. Besides uploading to my Google Drive, I committed the project to Git Hub and merged the development branch into the main branch. You can either visit the A Summoner’s Tale page of the blog, or you can use this direct link. I am also considering opening comments again. I’m sure I will get tons of SPAM again, but it is worth it if even one good comment comes through.
What’s Next
Hmmm. I’m tempted to go back to the editor, but I’m not going to. It’s not worthy of a full tutorial, but I am thinking of adding sounds and music. If I decide to go that route, I might implement the options screen. I believe that the two together might be worthy of a full tutorial. I would probably slip in another nugget or two. I don’t know. I will get to it in the next two days. It will probably be Monday or Tuesday next week.
My Projects
I want to, no will, spend some time with Shadow Monsters the next few nights. If nothing else, I want to start processing some of the assets that I’ve purchased. I need more, but they are a great start. I’m about a quarter of the way there. They will be more than enough for testing and building the first few maps. Beyond that, I will be working on some tutorials. Besides A Summoner’s Tale, I want to do a few Eye’s of the Dragon tutorials. It has been mortally wounded but not dead yet. It is and continues to be more most popular page.
Final Thoughts
The wind might be blowing out of my sails a little. They are still full, though! I’m making steady progress on my tutorials and projects. I will be spending some time with both over the next few days. So, I was hoping you could keep coming back to my blog for more tutorials and other goodness.
Good luck with your game programming adventures.
