I have just finished uploading tutorial 2 in my reimagined Eyes of the Dragon tutorial series. This tutorial falls in the steps of the previous Eyes of the Dragon tutorials. It adds in the concept of controls and creates a couple of basic controls. Also, it demonstrates how to change game states. You can find the tutorial on my site’s Eyes of the Dragon 4.0 page, or you can access it with this direct link.
What’s Next?
Well, that is the question, not to be, or not to be? Though, that is an excellent question. Just not relevant to what I’m doing. I think I will take a break for a day or two. I want to work on Shadow Monsters. Though, if I feel blocked, I will work on a tutorial. I will probably work on A Summoner’s Tale next.
My Games
Shadow Monsters is my primary focus when it comes to games. In addition, though, I’ve been itching to do a tower defence game. So I might do that at some point. Well, back to Shadow Monsters. If I do work on it, it will be mainly content creation. The vast majority of the code is done.
Final Thoughts
I know I’ve been saying this a lot, but writing tutorials have strongly influenced my life. So it feels good to give back to the community and help others who don’t know where to start. I have a clear vision of where I want to go with both tutorial series I’m working on. I might add a third and do a series on creating a tower defence game.
Good luck with your game programming adventures!
