Before I get to the tutorial, I’m happy to report that my new glasses are ready. I will be picking them up on Saturday. Yay! Now, on to the tutorial. I have just finished uploading tutorial 59 in my MonoGame RPG tutorial series Eyes of the Dragon to my Google Drive. The tutorial’s focus is improving user experience by adding mouse support to the various screens where it was lacking. You can find the tutorial on the Eyes of the Dragon page of the blog. Also, you can use this direct link.
What’s Next?
I have been thinking about that. I guess now would be a good time to start work on quests. We have all of the pieces in place to do that now, so it is a good time. We can talk to NPCs, fight monsters, collect items, quests seem like the next logical piece. Also, the editors have really lagged behind the game and need updating. However, my readers seem to be enjoying the game content more than the editors. So I might start slipping in an editor in here and there but focus more on gameplay as I have been.
My Projects
Lately, my project has been my tutorials. While I’d like to work on something fun, the tutorials have been rewarding and have helped elevate my mood. That said, I do want to work some on Forest Rush and get it playable and on the Google Play Store. Also, I would like to work on an RPG of my own, outside of tutorials. I have a good core engine, and I need to work on content. I’ve said it before. Game programming is easy; content creation is hard.
Final Thoughts
I’ll repeat it. My glasses are ready for pick up! I’m seriously hoping that they will resolve my vision issues. It will definitely improve my productivity because I will not have to take as many breaks for my eyes. Also, it was great to see another tutorial go up on the blog.
All in all, things have been going well this past week. Work has been good, tutorials, now my glasses are ready, and tomorrow is payday! In any event, I hope that you keep coming back to the blog for the latest news on my tutorials and other goodness.
Good luck with your game programming adventures!
