Wow, there’s a lot of code in this tutorial. I’ve been looking at breaking it into two parts, but I will be staying with a single tutorial. It is going to take some time to write the tutorial that I don’t have today. Other things require my attention today. I will be looking at writing it up tomorrow, though. I don’t know that I will do it in one day, but I will try.
What’s Next
So, I’m still working on MonoGame RPG Tutorial 42. It is going to be a monster, that is for sure. After this tutorial, I will be working on a tutorial on equipping items on the player character. It will hopefully be out next week sometime. It definitely won’t be this weekend. Once that tutorial is done, I will be working on the battle engine. I still don’t have a firm vision of what that will look like. I’m looking at turn-based combat; I hit you, you hit me back like in Pokemon. I’m also looking at tactical where the combatants are on a map, possibly with obstacles, and each turn, you have some action points to spend.
My Projects
I need to devote some of my time to my projects today. I haven’t truly worked on my own thing for weeks now, not since the launch of Quintessential Duels. My backlog is cleared, and I plan on working on my projects today. I’m torn about what to work on, though. I want to work on Lost Fate; however, I also want to work on Silver Prophet. Both require a lot of work, and both have their merits. I will decide after I publish this blog post.
Final Thoughts
There is a lot of code to go over for the next tutorial. Some of the writing I can grab from Shadow Monsters but a good chunk of it will require modification. I’m looking forward to working on a project of my own for a change. Rather than working on something for somebody else. It will be a welcome change. Still, I’m waiting for feedback on the apps that I’ve done so I can finish those projects.
