So, I’ve been busy with the app I’m working on for a client. I did finish the initial development where the app works as expected, along with the admin portal. I’ve shipped off versions of both to the client for end-user testing. However, I am waiting on some content from them for a couple of pages. They are just static pages, though, and shouldn’t take too much time to implement. However, I picked up a new contract that is taking a fair amount of my time. It should be a fairly simple port of a game to MonoGame. It is already mostly working.
What’s Next
At least at the moment, the plan for tomorrow is to finish tutorial 42 in the MonoGame RPG tutorial series. This tutorial covers adding merchants to the game and buying their wares. I have the majority of the code written; it just needs to be tested. Once the code is written, I will begin the writing of the tutorial. After this tutorial, I will be working on a tutorial about equipping items on the player character. Following that tutorial, I will be starting work on the battle engine. I haven’t finalized how I want to do the battle engine, but I have some ideas.
My Projects
My projects have suffered due to the contracts that I’ve picked up. I haven’t had the opportunity to work on anything since I finished Quintessential Duels two weeks ago. I should probably take some time and set it aside for my projects and tutorials. The thing is, I have these clients waiting for their apps and games, and I don’t want to be unprofessional and turn in their projects late. So, I spend a little more time on them than I should I want to make sure they get their vision come to life.
Final Thoughts
I’ve been very busy with contracts. So busy that I haven’t had the time to devote myself to other things. I need to learn to better balance work and leisure. That way, I would get both done in the right amount of time. So, I encourage you to keep visiting the blog for the latest news on my tutorials and other goodness.
