So, today was a busy day and as suspected I didn’t have time to devote to tutorials. Not just tutorials, my projects as well. Since tomorrow is a much slower day, I will have time to work on tutorials and my projects as well.
What’s Next
Up next is tutorial 40 in my MonoGame RPG tutorial series. This tutorial will be about creating mobs for the battle engine. Also, it will cover reading characters into the game. After that I will start work on the battle engine. As I have mentioned it will be a turn based engine. It will also be text based rather than graphical. It will be similar to the system from The Bard’s Tale series of games. They are some of the games that wanted me to get into game development back in the day.
My Projects
I have a deadline in mind for Quintessential Duels. For that reason, I will be spending time on it tomorrow as well as tutorials. Because I have a deadline in mind I won’t be devoting all of my free time on tutorials. Instead I will be dividing it more or less equally. What I will be working on for Quintessential Duels is the tutorial. I know what I want to do now as far as the tutorial is concerned. I’m going to make it interactive instead of static as it is now. One thing that I will have to come up with is a text effect but it shouldn’t be too difficult.
Once the tutorial is done all that is left is some polish on the graphics. They are a bit plain and need a bit of bling. I’m considering hiring a graphic artist to do the graphics rather than trying to attempt them on my own. I want as polished finished product as possible.
Final Thoughts
So, today was a wash because of things I had to do away from home and other commitments. The early morning tomorrow is busy but once that is done I will be hard at work on my tutorials and my projects.
