Today was a slow day. I did a little work on Shadow Monsters. I looked at Eyes of the Dragon, and I was trying to decide where to go next. Also, I looked at Forest Rush. I need to make some adjustments to it to handle collision detection properly. Instead of using destination rectangles, I need to use Vector2s and scale the textures. It’s early on, so that is not so much work. I might tackle that tutorial before working on the next Eyes of the Dragon tutorial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I might slip in a quick Forest Rush tutorial next. It would not be the regular-length tutorial that I would write. It would be a few pages. I like the idea. It is something that I can accomplish in a few hours. Expect a new Forest Rush tutorial tomorrow. After that tutorial, I will return my attention to Eyes of the Dragon. I see a lot of views, and I want to give you what you’re interested in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While I did work on Shadow Monsters, I didn’t make much headway. However, I had some personal things today, which went super well. I’ve been working on switching to using render targets instead of scaling vectors. I was opposed to the idea of render targets, but the more I use them, the more I like them. There are use cases where they don’t work so well, such as rendering partial scenes over top of other scenes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was an off day, where I recharged my battery. Tomorrow, I’m back to programming and writing. I will be working on both my project and tutorials. I will likely do the Forest Rush tutorial I mentioned earlier. It would be a quick win. After that, however, I might dive into a deep Eyes of the Dragon tutorial. We will see what the day brings. I will be back tomorrow with another episode of game programming adventures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
